The topics for discussion include:
Workshop 1: The convergence of Landlord and Tenant: The Need for Closer Partnership
This workshop, targeting those in direct negotiation, communication, and liaison between landlord and tenant and will cover the following topics:
• Why are Landlord and Tenant relations so crucial to the success of an asset
• What is needed to engender successful partnerships
• The benefits of shared information
• Managing your reputation
Examples of Landlord Tenant partnerships from different geographic locations will also be presented.
The workshop will be presented by Steven Priddis, Foundation Programme Leader: Retail Asset Management from the University College of Estate Management (UK).
Workshop 2: Optimising Retail Asset Value: Ensuring long-term sustainability
Those involved in managing, owning and funding retail assets will greatly benefit from this workshop, which will provide an introduction to the concept of adding value within a group workshop environment.
Examples of case studies from different geographic locations will be considered and reference will be made to:
• The Place, Beijing
• Cevahir Centre, Istanbul
• Era Centres and Shopping City Centres, Romania
• Wola Park, Warsaw

Workshop 3: Retail Asset Transactions: Optimising the Due Diligence Process
Those who are, either directly involved in, or with an overview interest in the outcome of the due diligence process, be it on the part of Vendor or Purchaser will benefit from this workshop.
The workshop, which will be presented by Steven Priddis, will include a general introduction to Retail Asset Due Diligence in a group workshop format. An account of some of the more unusual experiences from different geographic locations will also be discussed.
Workshop 4: The Journey towards the appointment of the BBBEE Commissioner
This workshop will be presented by Ms Zodwa Ntuli, BBBEE Commissioner, and will discuss the role, responsibility and mandate of the BBBEE Commissioner, in relation to the property sector
