SAPOA was recently invited to attend a presentation at the Western Cape Provincial Government.
Having delivered his budget speech to the Provincial Parliament in March, Minister Ivan Meyer and his team hosted a business engagement event at Wesgro (Provincial investment agency). SAPOA Head office received the invitation to attend the event, which was attended on SAPOA’s behalf by Mr Kevin Roman (SAPOA WC Chair), on Thursday the 23rd April 2026.
What came out strongly was the Minister’s commitment to investment into the Province and collaboration. One of his comments was and quoted “Don’t waste a Crisis”
Strategic Priorities listed were as follows:
- Destination Marketing
- Air access expansion
- Cruise Tourism growth
- Visitor safety programmed
- Cultural & Heritage Tourism
